I climbed Mt. Yotei for the first time last year in October. I climbed it on the last day the mountain hut at the ninth stage operates. The weather was great and the climb was all that I had expected. It was tough but not especially long. The leaves were turning and the mountain showcase for Hokkaido's autumn colors.
This year I climbed Mt. Yotei in September and I took a more methodical record of the climb to share here. First of all, this is the renovated toilet, state of the art all around. The fussiest climber would be pleased.
The trail starts at the very edge of the Makkari Camp site. More to come...
